Monkey-Watching at Apenheul in Apeldoorn
When you’re staying at the Harderwold Villa Resort, it’s fun to spend a day at Apenheul in Apeldoorn! In Apenheul’s park, many monkeys swing through the beautiful forests. The animal park is located right in the heart of nature in the Veluwe. It’s just a 30-minute drive from the Harderwold Villa Resort.
At Apenheul, you’ll discover up to 35 different species of monkeys. Half of the monkeys roam freely, and some curious little monkeys might just jump right onto your shoulder. Be sure to look up, too—who knows, a little monkey might swing right over your head. Not all monkeys roam freely through the park. The gorillas and orangutans live on a large island that you can admire from a distance. Would you like to visit Apenheul? Be sure to read the park rules carefully beforehand. It’s not allowed to feed, pet, or pick up the monkeys. And very important: keep your belongings secure, because before you know it, they’ll run off with your selfie stick.
TIP: We recommend ordering your tickets online in advance. Check out all the park rules on the Apenheul Apeldoorn.
